Frequently Asked Questions

The team at RiverPlace Dental receives several questions on a regular basis from curious patients, and we’re happy to answer them here in one convenient place. If you still don’t find the information you’re looking for below, you’re always welcome to contact Dr. McInnis directly here in Portland, OR. We want to help you feel confident about trusting your smile in our hands!

Will my new dental filling look unnatural?

No! We use composite resin, which comes in a wide variety of lifelike shades that can be matched precisely to your enamel for a seamless result. Once your filling is in place, it’ll be virtually impossible to distinguish from the rest of your smile.

I’m missing a tooth. What are my options for replacing it?

Above all else, Dr. McInnis recommends dental implants for seamless, healthy tooth replacement. This state-of-the-art option can’t be beat in terms of durability, function, and longevity. Additionally, our practice offers dental bridges and traditional dentures for patients who may not be a good fit for implants. We can go over these choices with you in greater detail during an initial consultation.

Can you help me improve the appearance of my smile?

Of course! Dr. McInnis offers several cosmetic treatment options that can help patients erase frustrating flaws and achieve a fresh, gorgeous look that turns heads. She’ll work with you closely to determine the smile makeover plan that fits your personal needs and goals best.

Do you see dental emergencies?

Yes. If you’re experiencing significant dental pain or a traumatic injury, call RiverPlace Dental right away for fast emergency care. Dr. McInnis will find time to fit you in as soon as possible, as often on the same day as your initial call.

Are digital X-rays safe?

They’re much safer than traditional X-rays! Digital radiography reduces the amount of radiation exposure patients experience in the treatment chair by up to 90%, which makes them much better for your overall health. The amount is similar to what you’d be exposed to during a short airplane flight.

Will you take my insurance?

Our practice is happy to work with major PPO insurance plans in the Portland area. To learn more about our financial options, please visit our new patients page.

I don’t have dental insurance. Is there another option?

A convenient and affordable payment plan can be arranged through CareCredit! This type of financing comes in several different lengths, and there is little or even NO interest attached. This arrangement helps our patients fit important dental care into their monthly budget without missing a step.
