Technology & Comforts

If you had to choose a word to describe dentistry, ‘stagnant’ would definitely be low on the list. Tools and techniques are constantly evolving for the better, and Dr. McInnis is happy to feature some of these modern touches here in her Portland, OR office for the benefit of her patients. Our team looks forward to helping you feel comfortable, at ease, and well cared for during all of your appointments! Contact RiverPlace Dental if you have any questions, or if you’re ready to schedule an appointment.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

If the thought of visiting your local dentist makes you feel nervous, rest assured that you’re definitely not alone. Instead of skipping important appointments, give our team a chance to help you feel at ease with nitrous oxide, which you may know better as “laughing gas.” Nitrous oxide is administered through a mask that comfortably fits over the nose, and within a few minutes of breathing it in, patients should start feeling calmer and more content. The effects wear off just as quickly too, which means our patients can quickly return to their daily routines without worry.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras are a great diagnostic tool that not only gives our team more information about your unique smile, but works as educational support for patients too! We’ll place the camera-tipped wand inside your mouth and start transmitting images right away to a monitor in the room. Dr. McInnis will be able to point out problematic areas, more clearly explain the effects of certain treatment options, and more!

Digital X-Rays

Traditionally, X-rays were captured on film and then slowly developed in a darkroom with hazardous chemicals. Thankfully, this process has undergone a serious makeover with the introduction of digital radiography, and Dr. McInnis is glad to feature it here in her Portland, OR office! Now, high-resolution images of your smile are available in seconds on our computer system, and there’s very little radiation exposure to worry about as well, making them much safer.
